Opportunities to give
There are a range of ways to support Spear and change the course of a young person’s life.
- Donate – with a one off or regular gift to empower a young person to take control of their life
- Fundraise – organise your own fundraising event in support of Resurgo. Ideas including quizes, bake sales and challenge events. We’d love to hear what you are planning and help with fundraising tips. Contact us to find out more.
- Support a specific area of our work – if you are an individual or represent a trust or foundation please contact Pip Prior on 020 3327 2074 or by email.
We are grateful for the support of a range of individuals, trusts, foundations and other organisations, including:
Mock interviewing is a crucial part of the Spear programme. Many Spear trainees have never had an interview so practice is vital. Mock interviews take place every six weeks on a Friday from 3pm – 5pm at our eight centres across London. A full briefing is given, but it’s useful to have some experience of interviewing. Our volunteers find the experience really rewarding.
Sarah Taylor has been a mock interviewer since 2012 and says, ‘It’s lovely to meet young people who I would never normally meet and help them see what’s possible for their life.’ Read more about Sarah’s experience.

Join us at Spear Celebration
Spear Celebration takes place at the end of the first six weeks of Spear. It’s a chance to hear directly from the young people about their experiences and is always hugely inspiring. The young people also find it really encouraging that visitors come to support them. Some haven’t received support and encouragement in their lives. The evening usually lasts about an hour and a half with time to chat over drinks and nibbles at the end.
Spear Supporter, Carol, who attended Spear Celebration in Hammersmith for the first time recently said: “I found hearing the young peoples’ stories so moving. They all had different stories to tell and it is so heart-warming to hear in their own words that they’re on the right trajectory. It was such an inspiring evening.”
